Life can be stressful to navigate. It can throw some curveballs that we don’t see coming and honestly it can just get overwhelming. And sometimes we just need that extra support or guidance to just see our way through. Allow me to be that person for you, to be the guide along your journey of healing, achieving your goals and becoming the best and most authentic YOU.
Education and Background
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the state of Texas under the supervision of C. Huston McComb, Jr. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Houston and Master’s degree in Counseling from Houston Baptist University. I have experience working with women, young adults with a focus on anxiety, depression, stress management, self-worth/self-esteem, women’s issues, relationship concerns and coping skills. I approach clients with a person-centered perspective and use a variety of modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to meet each client’s needs. Sometimes we can’t hear what we’re saying unless someone else reflects it back and that’s where “talk therapy” comes into play.
I believe in providing a space that is safe, non-judgmental, and is met with compassion in order for you to feel comfortable in sharing your thoughts, feelings and fears. I will meet you where you are, allowing you to be seen and heard. Take a chance and let’s start this journey of healing and working towards a better you, together.
My passion is to help others, whether that’s to motivate, encourage, or be the support and guide in their life. In addition to my knowledge and skills, I am fluent in Malayalam. I understand in the South Indian community it is stigmatized to seek mental health assistance and I want to help change that. I am telehealth only and if you are comfortable in starting therapy in the comfort of your home, take that step and call our office to schedule an appointment. If you’re reading this, I appreciate and commend you for thinking about therapy. The first step can feel nerve wracking, but it also can be well-worth it.
When I’m not counseling, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband, son and pup. I love
Disney animated movies and also enjoy reading, dancing and exploring new foods.
