Matt Martin

Counseling Practicum Student

I believe that curiosity toward your own story and pain is crucial for growth and healing. Our anxiety, depression, and coping behaviors are not just problems to be solved, but signals from our hearts of deep desire for love, safety, and connection. I believe that moving away from patterns of shame into patterns of grace provides the space for the healing and growth that we all desire, and I love to help cultivate these patterns within the counseling office.

I integrate biblical principles with trusted psychological research and counseling techniques. I use a person-centered approach, trusting that the client is the expert of their own life. I also implement restoration and neuroaffective relational model techniques. I am honored and find it a privilege to sit with clients in their pain, and am committed to creating a safe space for them. I believe that God is the one who knows us the best, and in Him we find wholeness, but I would love to sit with clients of any world view and would never force my values on the client or judge them for theirs.
