Kelechi Wright
LPC
I have been a Christian therapist for 20 years. I have worked with various populations from co-occurring mental health and drug and alcohol treatment centers to individual therapy to grief and loss counseling in hospice care. Most of my experience is centered around counseling adults experiencing depression, anxiety, and major life transitions. Foundationally I take an approach that centers God at the focus of every life challenge my clients face. I also recognize that we are all in different places in our journey with God and use discernment and sensitivity to navigate the incorporation of this into my sessions with clients.
Central to my tactics in teaching psychoeducational approaches to growth, is instructing clients in growing spiritually. My hope is that this would be received as life giving and encouraging in light of the circumstances that may have brought you to seek out counseling. I have advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I have found these modes of therapy effective in working with clients overcoming depression, anxiety, addictions and various traumas.
Education and Background
I have a Masters of Education in Counseling Psychology and a PhD in Social Work. I am Licensed as an LPC in Texas and three other states. I enjoy spending time with my family, serving at my local church and watching Christmas movies all year!
