C. Huston McComb, Jr.

Huston is the founder and owner of Judah Christian Counseling & Recovery, PLLC. He is a licensed professional counselor supervisor in Texas with over 30 years experience of helping individuals, couples and families navigate the challenges of life.

He specializes in trauma and addiction counseling using Christ-centered methods, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. Huston has a passion for supervising LPC Interns, sharing his expertise to help them grow in their profession. He is trained in EMDR, a treatment for trauma, and is certified as a sex addiction therapist supervisor (CSAT-S) and a multiple addiction therapist (CMAT).

Education & Licensure

I received my undergraduate degree from Southwest Baptist University, my MA in Professional Counseling from Lindenwood University and another MA in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in the state of Texas.  Additionally, I am a CSAT-S (Certified Sex Addiction Therapist-Supervisor) and a CMAT (Certified Multiple Addiction Therapist).

Professional Philosophy

Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I tailor each client’s treatments to meet their specific needs.  I believe the therapy should be a collaboration between the therapist and the client to be most effective.  From my training I enjoy counseling from a biblical perspective, but I respect every individual right to believe in their own way.  I will offer Christian counseling at the client’s request.  

Experience & Specializations

I have worked with adults, couples and groups for over thirty years.  While I address a range of issues, I am passionate about helping those with trauma and addictions.  I believe it is possible to live a healthy full life with these conditions.  I also specialize in helping couples with their marriage difficulties, be it through addictive behaviors or other issues.  

Personal Background

I have been happily married to my wife for nearly forty years, and we have spent the last twenty-five of those years in the Houston, Texas area.  We have two grown children, in their thirties.  In my spare time I like to play a little golf.  As a follower of Jesus, I believe that I was called to help others and allow them to be seen, heard and understood in the deepest spaces of their lives.
